The Dancing Underpants were the focus of a bizarre and arguably-disturbing encounter that a man named R. E. Barker had at the age of nine.
While inspecting an abandoned barn at a nudist camp, Barker found that the door was locked. Looking through the crack between the floor and the bottom of the door, Barker glanced upwards and was met with a pair of white underpants floating in mid-air and dancing around. Barker turned and ran immediately.
The phenomenon, only encountered once, was described as a pair of white Fruit-of-the-Loom underpants floating in mid-air and dancing, as if possessed.
There are several explanations as to what the phenomenon could be. Theories include:
- A ghost
- The story was featured in a small article in Weird N.J..
