The Flying Worm of Prague was a flying worm-like creature allegedly witnessed by a 23-year-old student in his home in Prague, Czech Republic. The witness claimed he was sleeping in his bedroom when he noticed the creature in question hovering overhead. When approached, the creature reacted with fear, nimbly avoiding furniture items in its escape and fleeing through a window.
Appearance[]
The witness described the creature as being a "giant flying gauzy, translucent worm" [sic]. It was about 30 to 40 cm long, and about 10 cm in diameter. The creature's insides were described as "very structured" and internal organs were apparently visible. A long black string was also apparently visible dangling behind the creature.
Possible Explanations[]
There are several explanations as to what the creature could be. Theories include:
- A species of giant flying Paramecium
- A floating spider web
Trivia[]
- The witness reported his story to Cryptozoology News (cryptozoologynews.com) and gave a full name, but asked to remain anonymous.
- At first, the witness thought it was merely a spider web, but it seemed to move intelligently when touched.
