A photograph of supposed footprints
The Giant Penguin, also known as the Giant Clearwater Penguin, was a large, unknown, penguin-like bird that was sighted multiple times on Clearwater Beach in Florida in 1948.
The creature was described as being penguin-like in shape and being at least 15 feet tall. As evidenced by its tracks, the creature possesses large three-toed feet with claws.
There are several explanations as to what the creature could be. Theories include:
- An undiscovered species (a Cryptid)
- During the same year, people in a boat off the Gulf Coast reported seeing a large penguin-like bird floating on the water.
- Later, a large penguin was spotted by an airplane pilot on the banks of the Suwannee River in northern Florida.
