The John Lawson Mannequins are a group of mysterious mannequins that are known to inhabit what is known as the "John Lawson House". No one knows who lives in the house, if anyone.
Description[]
Over the years, the mannequins have been known to switch positions and locations on the front porch, as well as change clothing. Sometimes, they are seen holding various household items that also change position from time to time. On rainy days, the mannequins are gone from the porch entirely.
Possible Explanations[]
There are several explanations as to what the phenomenon could be. Theories include:
- Ghost
- Human prankster
Trivia[]
- The house is located on 9 Main St, Wappingers Falls, New York.
- During a two-week cold wave in the winter of 1871, a train crashed two-hundred feet from the house, killing 22 people on impact. Often times the dolls are found pointing towards the area of the crash site. Other times, they’re discovered with their heads looking towards the only other historical house left of the street, which has sat abandoned for many years. (roadtrippers.com)
