The Sawtooth Dolphin, also known as the Razorback Dolphin, the Holadeira, or Amazon Nessie, is a mystery freshwater cetacean reported from South America.
Appearance[]
The creature is described as a large freshwater dolphin resembling the Boto but with a dorsal fin that has notches, much like those of a saw.
Possible Explanations[]
There are several explanations as to what the creature could be. Theories include:
- An undiscovered species (a Cryptid)
- A river dolphin with a deformed back.
Trivia[]
- A Sawtooth dolphin was observed and photographed twice in 1993 and 1994 by Jeremy Wade in an unnamed lake in the Amazon basin. Wade also heard rumors of similar Sawtooth dolphins in a nearby lake and river. (weirdanimalreport.com)
